Advent of Code in Rust
I’ve started tackling Advent of Code problems in Rust. It’s a great way to learn a new language - the problems are small enough to be manageable but complex enough to require understanding the language properly.
Why Rust?
Rust has been on my radar for years. The promise of memory safety without garbage collection, combined with excellent performance, makes it compelling for certain types of projects. Plus, the compiler errors are famously helpful for learning.
E-Commerce Work
On the business side, I’ve been working on a shopping cart system. E-commerce is a well-understood domain, but there are always nuances - tax calculations, inventory management, payment processing, shipping integrations. Getting all the details right takes effort.
Ketcher Updates
The Ketcher molecular sketcher project also received updates. Scientific software maintenance continues alongside the new ventures.
