The final quarter of 2024 adds another language to the mix: Python.
Python Endpoints
I’ve started building Python-based API endpoints. Python has always been on the periphery of my work, but this quarter it’s moved more to the center. The ecosystem for data processing and API development is excellent.
Multi-Language Year
2024 has been remarkably polyglot: Mathematica, Rust, Python, plus the usual PHP/JavaScript/TypeScript. Each language brings its own perspective and strengths.
Year in Review
438 contributions - another strong year. The highlights were scientific computing with Mathematica, learning Rust through Advent of Code, and the ongoing e-commerce work. It’s been a year of expanding horizons while maintaining momentum on established projects.
Looking to 2025
The Python work will likely continue into next year. The scientific computing domain is interesting and may lead to more opportunities. And there are always more Advent of Code problems to solve in Rust.
